We use money everyday to survive, and the world around us tics and moves based on monetary transactions. In this work custom built music boxes perform a melody based on real-time currency data of the 10 most used currencies of the world. The abstracted melody (musical notes from What a Wonderful World) is informed by changing values of currency which influence the speed of each music box, causing them to turn faster or slower. The sculptural piece is performed by a conductor, as if in a symphony, alluding to how money does not exists by itself but needs all of us to perform little parts to make it work.
